    1. Ahhhh!! Thank you so much, Braeden. I try to recite my poetry with a delicate but brutally honest tone of voice. In casual conversation Iโ€™m more sarcastic, witty, commanding, silly. Depending on the situation, haha.

  1. “The One” is very touching! And I love the use of audio on your site! How compelling!
As for me, I would worry that my Southern accent might detract from my words, rather than enhance them!
By the way, I also love that old key! I have often thought about collecting old locks and keys!

    1. Thank you so much Iโ€™m immensely flattered! I have found that voice adds to ambiance of certain poems! Also donโ€™t worry too much. Accents are charming, even southern accents. I collect vintage/antique keys and highly recommend! They are so interesting!

      1. I love antiquing, too! I mainly collect very old medicine bottles and some “oddities,” such as a square rock
and a small tree limb which grew back into itself, in a small circle! I would dearly love to see your keys!

Where did you find the voice feature to add to your blog?

      2. Oh my – I adore apothecary, medicine and antique perfume bottles as well! Thatโ€™s so cool! So Iโ€™m on the upgraded personal plan for wordpress and it gives us an audio feature under โ€œadd mediaโ€.

  2. When I was a boy, my dad found an old, turn of the century landfill where we could go and dig up very old bottles, insulators, and jugs! It was like junk heaven!
I also love everything vintage! Dita Von Teese is my idol!
As for the audio feature, since I am on the cheapo free plan, I guess I will have to do without it! ๐Ÿ™‚
Thanks again for your time and talent!

  3. OMG, April!! I so love your voice and the way you recite your words!! Mmmm! You should make a habit of reciting audio to accompany your poems!!! It is the final touch that makes a poem – PERFECT!! Here is why – with an audio of your voice we are relieved of reading your words and can just close our eyes and let the words paint the picture you are painting and let our minds visualize the colors, see the details and feel the feelings as if in a dream. Doesn’t that sound like a wonderful way to make all your poems – PERFECT?? But that’s just me? Ha.
Love each of your audios and they only made me wish for more!!!

    1. Oh, wow, I never expected to log in today and find such sweet and flattering feedback from a writer with whom I so deeply respect. Iโ€™m blushing wildly after reading your comments. Wow, I so sincerely thank you!! I mean – how does one even adequately say thank you when given such praise!? Iโ€™ve been on a bit of a wordpress hiatus (an uncomfortable combination of real world stress, a lack of artistic cohesion and a total revulsion to the new โ€œblockโ€ editor design) so this was wholly unexpected and your words made my entire evening.

Fyi – I actually started recording audio and placing that over video/visuals that accompany almost every piece Iโ€™ve posted for the better part of a year. Its at the top of the page. I invite you to browse back in my repertoire at your leisure and drift as much as it pleases you. Voice and visuals absolutely give powerful meaning to existential sentiment. Again…. merci, merci, Chuck. Xoxo

      1. I am so pleased that my words brought happiness and joy to your heart, April !!! Not meant as flattery, but honest and very well deserved praise from a beautiful piece brought to life with your words and presentation!
URW2Sweet to me! Happy you enjoy my writing!!

You need not thank me, it is I who needs to thank you again for the joyful experience of hearing your voice bringing your words to life and providing the opportunity to close my eyes and see the mental pictures they conjure. That was a Joyful Experience!! ๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜ I am thrilled to think you got so much joy and excitement from my honest comment!!

I know about real world stress and it’s impositions on writing and creative endeavors. Oh, April, please don’t get me started on the new block editor, since I wouldn’t want to embarrass myself in front of a lovely Lady. Let’s just say I HATE it!

My apology to you, Dear for having missed the joy of reading your writing and listening to your voice for the better part of a year??? Wow! Bad on Me!! I shall make it a priority to go back and experience each of them. I am thrilled to have this to look forward to doing!!! I promise to browse back through your repertoire and catch up on all that I have missed! Oh, this shall be like an extended Christmas!! Yeah!! I am sure I will be doing a lot of drifting and gleaning through your words for seeds of inspiration you have left behind!
I so agree about visuals. They do so much as does background sound too!! Love your multimedia pieces!!
Have you thought about posting these on Youtube.com???
Love your words, your voice and presentation!! So grateful!!

      1. Well now! Perhaps, I could tempt you into trying it once or twice to see if you like the outcome? If the thought does intrigue you let me know and I’d love to have you’re voice giving life to my words!! That would be a real honor, Dear!

  4. Dear April,

I am coming over here to see and comfort you after witnessing the difficulty of having a civilized conversation at romanticindeed’s post entitled Political โ€“ โ€œThe Fundamental Difference Between Trump & Bidenโ€ โ€“ 12/20/2020.

I feel that your following description of Trump’s personality and way of life is accurate and justified:

Trump is a draconian, malignant ego-maniac who cares for nothing but money and himself. He uses people. He values greed. Period. There is no philosophical argument that will right the horrific things heโ€™s said and done to minorities, women, transgender, homeless, individuals with disabilities, the environment, the list goes on and on. He lacks tact, class, grace and empathy on a level that is so toxic itโ€™s difficult for me โ€“ a poet โ€“ to even articulate.

In any case, I am here to acknowledge your humanity and artistry as well as womanhood. And I would like to celebrate and resonate with your very name and your very being through a special post of mine affirming the idea of APRIL LOVE with graphics, art, poetry and music at https://soundeagle.wordpress.com/2013/04/10/soundeagle-in-april-love-and-dove-art-and-heart-game-and-puzzle-music-and-video/

May you continue to excel in your excellent recitation and wonderful reading of poems and prose!

I am extremely grateful for this, and feel comforted that you took the time to extend such empathy and solidarity to me. Your kindness will not be forgotten. I wish you all the love imaginable and hope you continue to better this world with your insightful, intuitive, and unforgettable gifts. ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ๐Ÿฆ‰
