Ode to A.

Despite the hazards

His hands scatter

Impetuous as egrets

Austere as harrier

Over and over..

Again and again…

Orwellian as orioles

Mad as canyon wren

Roving, forebodingly

Randian as ravens

Uncaging the cravings

Despite the hazards

His hands scatter

Like winged contraband

Staggering as arrows

Synchronized as sparrows

Dividing my horizons

Into transmute hemispheres

A prelude to consuming

The humid deluge

Caressing, possessing

The balmy skies

Between my thighs

a. duncan, 2021

And if tomorrow it’s all over
At least we had it for a moment
Oh darling, things seem so unstable
But for a moment we were able to be still
