Dear Human (A Series) [I]

Dear Human

How to disappear completely:

Do not begin to begin with

In keeping with this

Be sure to be

Your own worst enemy

A provocative concept, yes

Yet very effective

This is part [I] in an upcoming series, entitled ‘Dear Human’.

Its concept was inspired by an article forwarded to me from a friend where AI were attempting to learn how to effectively flirt like humans, composing flirtatious one liners with very humorous results.

It got me contemplating how AI would answer existential / hypothetical questions. How their answers would differ from our own, in attempting to answer “like” humans.

This prose series is written from the perspective of AI, at the intersection of technology and psychology. The answers can feel somewhat abstract or unnatural yet their perspective is both thought provoking and frightening, their depth no less prophetic or astounding.

  1. This is very interesting. I don’t want to sound like a nerd (which I am!) But have you played the game Detroit: Become Human? It’s a game in which you play as different AI and explore what it it is to be human. You’re forced to make moral decisions and deal with the consequences. The game has multiple endings and branching narratives and features sci fi tropes like sentience a’la Westworld with the added emotional punch. I’m looking forward to reading more!

    1. I doooooo remember that and so much of this concept harkens back to amazingly chilling Sci-fi like Space Odyssey, Bladerunner, Metropolis, etc. I’m so pleased you made that connection! 😍 Happy (Hoppy) Easter, sweet pea! 🐣🐰💗💜🌷
