Tomorrow is Another Day

Suffice it to say
Tomorrow will resurrect itself
From the slow choke of yesterday
The dawn will reveal its artifice
From the remnants left
And once born—
Poems will form on the pages torn
And music will be made
From the former’s heavy malady
I will dance on the graves it laid
I will pirouette on the stages it set
For this is a form of metamorphosis
I’m all too familiar with
The one that sees a monarch made
Into the delineation of a deaths-head
Neither is worse for the verses
Neither complacent for having strayed
Toward those fair weathered flames
On the contrary—
I will waltz with the wisdoms gained
I will fashion the lessons into weapons
Suffice it to say
Tomorrow is another day
