If I were to

Siphon your brilliance

With the utmost of reverence

What then, my friend?

Drained of your subconscious lore

Primal mechanisms alchemize

With composite metaphor

If I were to

Dismantle your humanity

To odyssey your prodigy

What then, my friend?

Bloodletting your penchant

For secret solitary

Crystallize with the hive

Of your ingeniousness

If I were to

Slow kiss the syndrome

Make it my momentary home

What then, my friend?

Upending the biometric lease

Appeased among the nth degree

An affair of the marrow

In the name of artistic conceit

If I were to

Fiend for your intrigue

Intravenously speaking

What then, my friend?

Suspended in the veins

Lifted with poetic significance

Drifting in the midst

Of your mescaline dreams

If I were to

Come undone at the seams

Seizing in symbiotic synthesis

What then, my friend?

A mydriatic martyr ascending

On a synthetic meteoric

Punch drunk naked lunch

Stanzas scrawled upon aortic walls

If I were to

Detect the intellect

Detained in the endless details

What then, my friend?

Catheter fed your linguistic labyrinth

In a kind of cauterized catharsis

Your tragedies, my desires

  1. Wow 😮 How do you do this? I’m floored by this piece, I can’t even imagine the trajectory it takes in its birth process. This actually reminded me a bit of our good friend Charlie. I feel it had hints of his way of thinking throughout.

    1. Larisa…. darling. First of all are you some kind of sensual gypsy creature who can read my mind like tarot cards or something?? I’m literally screaming right now!!

This was, in fact, written as a sort of ode to our good friend Charlie! He and I had a discussion the other day about what it would be like to transfer (or transfuse) the creative energy from one poet to another. It got me onto this whole concept/metaphor of siphoning someone else’s brilliance. Their mind, their inspiration, their process. Injecting that straight into the veins. What a high that would be.

I am absolutely thrilled that you (extremely astutely!) picked up on glimpses of Charlie in this, as he is the one I was using as an example. His writing style is much different than my own. it would be fascinating to experience his mind (or yours, or robs, or rachels, or tims) as my own. ❤ purrrrrrrrrrrrr I would so pounce you if I could

      1. Oh my goodness, I actually totally picked up what you were putting down! Haha how neat is that?! I still can’t get over how Rob got your swimmers reference and I totally missed that one by a mile lol. You knocked this one out of the park with the Charlie theme, April. The punch drunk naked lunch line clinched it for me. I am utterly tickled pink on Charlie’s behalf 🥰 Pounce away you gorgeous vixen 😍🦊

The paying homage to “William S Burroughs’ and of course thank you for dedicating this in honor of our friendship and conversation we had. I do see the energy transfusion of what you spoke of. I feel it and did hopefully inspired you in a way. Seriously, it means so much in my heart and I always seriously, always respect and support our friendship and our conversations. You are the best and you always inspire me. I mean that with all my heart.

Your voice is pure gold…and I told you this before…you should write an audio book. I will buy a copy off you.
