Please don’t be late.

Warnings are best ignored just before
spectacular catastrophes.

I repeat.

Deceit is most inflated
when kept in gullible company.

Always let moths warm themselves
by the fires, set by hungry spiders.

After all.

Once bitten, twice shy
and what are scars to butterflies?

Or fish to barrels?
Or blades to pistols?

It’s official.

Willful ignorance is the new black
and someone on twitter says black is slimming.

It must be true!

This is good news.

(For you)

Rainy day parades are patiently awaiting
their motorcade of complacent clowns.

Please don’t be late.

      1. I think it’s mostly funny because we can all relate to people like this!
Who don’t take solid advice and instead dive head first into some shitshow relationship or situation. And we’re left standing there going are you insane..? That’s why I went with the circus/clown metaphor because it’s just ridiculous.

      2. And you hit the nail in the readers minds. I love it and the concept direction you took with the satire humorous poem. 🙂

        And speaking of circus clowns.

Listen to this and watch the video. Hope you enjoy some good nightmare music by: Mr. Bungle.

        Mr. Bungle “Travolta”

      3. Oh I’m quite familiar with this track! Mr. Bungle, Faith No More and everything Mike Patton touches is like scripture to me. I’m a long time fan. I’ve been lucky enough to see both Faith no More and Bungle live several times. Patton’s talent is immeasurable!

      4. Mike Patton is a musical genius.

I feel he’s very underrated. But, that’s okay…he is beloved by all the underground fans. Don’t forget his other projects: Peeping Tom, Fantomas, Tomahawk, Dead Cross, etc…etc.

You are super lucky you saw Faith No more, and Mr. Bungle. I wish I would have seen them. 😦

      5. Absolutely. All his projects leave me in awe – but I have especially sentimental and powerful feelings for Mr. Bungle and for FNM. I was blessed to see each perform more than once. Hopefully
you will have the occasion to see them too, someday.

FNM’s “King for a day” & “Album of the Year” were the soundtrack to a period in my late teens, early 20’s. I have many cherished memories that are tied to those songs.

    1. Lmao!! I’m so pleased you liked it!! this is one of those pieces that I wrote with so much utter disdain for someone but decided to do it in that annoying customer service / airline stewardess tone of voice just to give it that contrast. If you’re gonna hate someone, might as well hate them with a smile. Hahahaha.
