Let Them Have It

And if the bleak are to inherit the earth?

Then I say, friends,

Let them have it

For they shall be in fine company

Among the filth and degradation

Reeking of havoc

The flawed machinations

Of the emotionally inept

Let them have it

Let them have their vapid domain

Of trauma and dichotomy

For this is an apocalypse

Born in illegitimacy

To empathy’s nemesis

Let them have it

Let them have their insipid religion

Of fanatical indifference

Of born-again torment

Their fraudulent prayers

 Ascend to nowhere

 Their Gods remain mute

Delusions othe morally destitute

Let them have it

Let them have their extinction

Their self inflicted weakness

Betrayer’s of nature

Magician’s of doom

 Their ignorance of consequence

Their contagious wars

The cherishing of violence

A hive mind’s own design

Let them have it

Let them have their indiscreet lunacy

For who are we

To deny the bourgeoisie

Their diamonds of blood

Their seasons of acid rain

Let them have it

Let them have their legacy of pain

Humanity’s diseases

Vanity’s oppressiveness

Even when gilded

Shall infect them all

Nevertheless

Let them have it

  1. The 50% of people who fascinate on destruction our of planet, yes,
    Let them have it.

    My favorite lines:

    “Let them have it

    Let them have their extinction

    Their self inflicted weakness

    Betrayer’s of nature

    Magician’s of doom

    Their ignorance of consequence

    Their contagious wars

    The cherishing of violence

    A hive mind’s own design”

This is exactly how I feel. It’s as if you and I, think so deeply and much.

The 50% of us vs the other 50 is a constant battle and a fight we are continuing to fight,
and trying our best to fight it.

Our planet is running its course there’s hope still but others choose to weak it and suffocate anything around that that’s consider worth its survival or true cause.

April, you’ve hit a masterpiece of what I call my home and my favorite work by you.

Raw and you hold nothing back and say it like it should be said. And for that I thank you from my heart to you. Your voice…oh my goodness…you are incredible and your voice fueled this poem so immensely, soothing, yet the anger that you and I, feel. I’m extremely proud of you
and know that I honor and truly cherish & respect our friendship so much.
Thank you always for being such a wonderful person and your gifted talent of writing is my favorite and I’ll always show my strong support for your work. 🙂

    1. I could not be more sincerely complimented by this comment, Charlie! Thank you for inspiring me to write this, for your intimate understanding of its message, and for such encouraging words. I agree – we seem to mirror one another’s world views. A potent mix of bewilderment, disgust and awe. I owe this poignant piece to you! Truly. This is why I remain on WordPress – for the artistic exchange, the creative energy. You allowed me to think powerfully and for that I tip my hat to you, sir! Your friendship is valued and needed!
