le quatrième mois

in the fourth month it rains

at ungodly hours, it showers

pinning down

the helpless flowers

in the unguarded gardens

from unrelenting storms

it indiscreetly pours

the sky’s dulcet lullabies

dutifully seducing the hill sides

the soil moistens

to quicksand

in the wasteland

pleasure is measurable

in inches

it drenches the feathers

of scattering finches

the vapor’s command

let go of your earthly tether’

and the asters answer

faster, please, faster…

the clouds consummate

with clover

(over and over)

the deluge hungrily

tongues the sunflowers

(for hours and hours)

honey’d dew trickles down

the erect stems

of the bluebells

naked and dazed

the stargazers

bathe in the ponds that gather

at the base of velvet fronds

as the orchids

unanimously declare

their obedience

to the torrents

the blooms, subdued

suddenly devout

 to the arcane religion

of rain

    1. Ahhhh! I’m so pleased to hear this. This was beyond wonderful to create. The imagery and concept came to me in a rather lucid dream. It was such a blessing because it stayed with me after waking. The details were a pleasure to describe! Thank you so sincerely!!

  1. If I’m analyzing this correctly.

I sense a sensual feel of love and the deeper level of connection.
The visuals in your wording find their colors of truth and the kisses that bind one another.

Brilliantly well expressed and very breathtaking and moving poem my friend. 🙂

    1. Charlie, I’m complimented, thank you so much. This is one of the most organic and effortless poems I’ve written in ages. My peer’s reactions have given me so much joy.

You are spot on – it has a very sensual and natural sensuality woven throughout the metaphors. It’s as much about sexuality as it is about self love. So grateful for the feedback. ♥️
