Escape from waking

Dearly departed William
Dwells in eternal repose
Having composed his ode’s
Blood of the mind disclosed
By gentle shine of beeswax
His wisdoms kin to flaxen sheep
That lie quietly among iambic lions
Lulled to sleep by the weeping
Of star cross’d tragedy
His solemn muse declare’d indiscreet
To sleep, perchance to dream
For therein waits retreat, therefore
Let thy heart seek not defeat
May thy bliss be amid the remnants of abyss
And may thee unscathed escape
Escape from thy waking
