dear dionysus

if only you knew

about the letters I’d written

in my head

to no one in particular

also to someone

and maybe, even a few

were addressed to you

in torrential ballpoint

scarlet letter ‘A’

for ‘April’ or ‘Antigone’

and possibly

‘arsenic’, or ‘annihilation’

all those words are

interchangeable, anyway

my filigree cursive bleeds

with all

the unnecessary bravado

of a Greek tragedy

as if the stationary

were a stage

and the sentiments

born to betray themselves

nevertheless

I always use

a nom de plume

with sincerity, sophocles

before the post script encore

Oedipus comple(x o x o)
