do rainbows have shadows?

time heals, they said

all wounds, conveniently

no mention, of the scars

that remain, the dreams

where he, kisses me

and remains, like the scars

antagonizing, lingering

aching, as they age

laughing, as they linger

are we actually healed

if we are haunted?

if rainbows

have shadows

do scars have

silver linings?

"She would fill endless notebooks with stories about the characters in her life, their impressions, words, friends, lovers, inspirations, fantasies. She spent her days dreaming up worlds where they fit together in visions; the if only, the never again, the someday. Those who knew her best would describe her as a creature with a clear and sometimes painful sense of herself; furious with ideas and convictions, to a point that she frightened love away with discernment and a relentless strength of character."

  1. A metaphor of high imagery that I have not read in a long time. This is one of my favorite poems of this year. Why? Because the title caught my eyes and your words pulled me into your world of rainbows having their own shadow within them.

I’d say this is poem has stunning visuals and you’ve made my day. Thank you. 🙂
