flick off the lights

let the game begin

60 second head start

pupils like platters

strategies like stimulants

heat seeking missiles

dashing past

vague furniture outlines

coffee table obstacles

holding our breaths

between bursts

the dizzy chase

erupting in shadows

from room to room

when two bodies

crash together

like drunken meteors

pinning each other

to the hardwood

an inevitable

carnage ensues

tag, you’re it

She spent her days dreaming up worlds where they fit together in visions; the if only, the never again, the someday. Those who knew her best would describe her as a creature with a clear and sometimes painful sense of herself; furious with ideas and convictions, to a point that she frightened love away with discernment and a relentless strength of character."
