you are so handsome

it’s non negotiable

face like a ransom note

the curves of your mouth

making harsh demands on mine

you are a pretty piece of paper

crisp and folded tenderly

my origami Orion

ciphers in those brown eyes

you have trip wire hands

 a morse code masculinity

that I decipher in dreams

my voynich valentine

you kiss me in invisible ink

we fall together in transposition

and despite my best efforts

to memorize the language

of your love

it vanishes on waking

oh, rosetta romeo

where do you go?

so puzzling

"She would fill endless notebooks with stories about the characters in her life, their impressions, words, friends, lovers, inspirations, fantasies. She spent her days dreaming up worlds where they fit together in visions; the if only, the never again, the someday. Those who knew her best would describe her as a creature with a clear and sometimes painful sense of herself; furious with ideas and convictions, to a point that she frightened love away with discernment and a relentless strength of character."

  1. You really have a way with words, you know that?

I like how your poems usually flow but how they connect and form multiple meanings on second or third readings.

In a weird way, I took it personal too, as I have deep brown eyes. So I had a bit of a connection there.

    1. You flatter me sir, as always. (I may have told I have a forte with language once or twice.. ;))

I love this kind of feedback, because it shows me that you really read it and understood it, particularly the layered meanings. That means the most to me.

It was meant to be experienced personally. If it thrilled you, even a little, then I did my job.

      Thank you so much, xoxo

      1. Have I repeated myself? Oh dear, how embarrassing! But it is true that your words change on the reading, allowing for more interpretation.

I don’t get to run by your site as much as I would like. Mayhaps I need to set aside a time and binge.

      2. No, no! Not at all. Not by you. I just meant once or twice in my lifetime I’ve been told that I’m competent with wielding words 😉

You do flatter me immensely any time you have the opportunity to read. You let me know that you hear me. And that’s the best compliment. Xo
