in an otherwise dark sky

on the surface of a pale planet

 she smolders in silence

radiates faintly in rhythm

with the extinguishing stars

intrigued by

their distant declarations

ponders if

super nova’s are superstitious?

or sentimental?

do they

daydream?

are they

autonomous?

she identifies with

their self destructive twinkle

blows sympathetic kisses

into the atmosphere

launches love letters

 into space

in glow in the dark

mason jars

never to be received

but laced just the same

with meaningful metaphors

and endless curiosities

about

their freedom to shine

in an otherwise

dark sky

"She would fill endless notebooks with stories about the characters in her life, their impressions, words, friends, lovers, inspirations, fantasies. She spent her days dreaming up worlds where they fit together in visions; the if only, the never again, the someday. Those who knew her best would describe her as a creature with a clear and sometimes painful sense of herself; furious with ideas and convictions, to a point that she frightened love away with discernment and a relentless strength of character."
