that girl

she’s a dragon

who dines on

charred hearts

bathes in the ash

of capitol’s

burned by

her sighs

seems fearless

when cornered by

double-edged swords

wears the bones

of soldiers

as costume jewelry

from the invasions

fiery purrs

skulls as pearls

and yet

that girl

that dragon

she cowers

from the quiet

left in the wake

of her destruction

when there’s

no one left

to challenge her

everything is

d e v a s t a t e d

and so

she begs

into the flames

“please come back –

let me burn you again..?”
